Established in 2006, Casey Hartley’s fish carving was born out of a love for fishing, a deep appreciation for the outdoors, and an innate talent for carving and painting.

Inspired by the classic, rustic marine art of New England shore towns and the beauty of the fish he loves to catch, and hoping to create a tasteful, folk art alternative to unwieldly, airbrushed fiberglass mounts, Casey tried his hand at carving a striped bass.

It ended up looking somewhat rudimentary, but it was fun and experimental and it ignited a passion for the craft that hasn’t let up.

Casey now works out of his studio in Stamford, CT, and hops on his boat (or kayak) to do some fishing whenever time allows, always ready for inspiration... and hoping to land the big one.
